Tight active wear got you feeling prolapsy?

It's winter here, and I've been squeezing into pantyhose with skirts. On most workout days, I'm in my activewear leggings because, well, it's cold!
By the end of the day, my prolapse symptoms are acting up (feeling more bulgy), and my breathing feels like it's in my ears.
Why does this happen with tight clothes? It's all about our internal pressure system.

When the midsection is restricted, the diaphragm, which is the muscle we use for breathing, can't expand fully. And if you're also holding your core tight (hello, core suckers!), you're pushing everything down even more.
Our inner pressure system is kind of like that squishy toy above. If you put something tight around the middle, like a hand on the toy or tight leggings or a corset on your body, it creates uneven pressure up and down.
This leads to restricted sideways breathing and downward pressure on the pelvic floor.
But if you can notice these feelings in your body, a small change like taking off the tight clothes or wearing them less often can help until you build a stronger core system. (You can do this through my reconnect core restore programme.)
